The Richness of Autumn in New England

Travelling by Amtrak's Downeaster this morning, looking out the window at mother nature's canvas, I am reminded of why I like this season so much. The early morning hour enhances the red's and yellow's and the still waters reflect the still leaf laden trees. Since returning from Hawaii, I have taken on a full time marketing job at Kendall Press in Cambridge. One of the many bonuses of this position is the monthly rail pass that allows me to think, plan and write while riding the rails.

This past month I've had the dual opportunities of working with YELP's event at Microsoft's New England Research and Development (NERD) center during the week and working with Patrick Dempsey at Central Maine Medical Center at the Dempsey Challenge. Patrick is both humble and very giving of himself and his time. Look for a series of published photos and stories coming out in November on this. One of the photos here is Patrick Demspey with George Hincapie (7 time tour d'France winner who also rode with Lance Armstrong). And how cool is it to see them looking at the pictures from my Hawaii assignment.

Helping small business via my specialty of Visual Imagery in Marketing is greatly satisfying for me. The perks along the way aren't bad either.

Hawai'i : the photo assignment

Now been in Hawai'i longer than I can remember. Sunny warm days, blue sky, clear horizons, wonderful water and all of this is before 9am. Living in two time zones has me up before the locals...swimming and shooting for myself before the daily work begins. Now completed profile photos and candid documentary photos of the academic community interviews.

Big shout out to Dastardly Dave and his encouragement to have me attend the NH tattoo expo and to the amazing Bud 'light man' for the lighting class and tips. SOPHA RULES. Next step is figuring out how to post some of the images while I'm still down here on the islands.

Soon to begin the "tattoo on the beach candid interviews" and images. Early morning shoots work best as the locals make great sport of trying to splash water on the camera lens of tourists. Particularly when standing on a wharf or surfing area that gives them the opportunity. Sport hunting with water. We'll all tourists here and the more expensive the camera or lens - the greater the value for sport trophies.

Discovered Chinatown. Excellent food. Dim Sum daily. food budget extended. Loving the choices.
